Nederlandse Loterij reports slight decrease in net revenues

Nederlandse Loterij has published its 2023 annual report, showing a 2.8% decrease in net revenues compared to the previous year.

In the accompanying press release, Nederlandse Loterij CEO, Arjan Blok cites increased competition in the online gambling market, a higher overall RTP ratio, higher gambling taxes, and increased investments in responsible gaming as reasons for the decline in net revenues.

TOTO Online saw a 7.3% decrease in net revenues: from €218.8m (2022) to €202.7m (2023).

Earlier, the Netherlands’ other state-owned operator, Holland Casino, also reported a significant decline in online revenues in 2023, indicating that both state-owned operators are increasingly losing out against larger international operators.
