Netherlands Gambling Authority issues 14 warnings over Covid-19 advertising
The Netherlands Gambling Authority has issued 14 warnings in relation to Covid-19-themed marketing from online gambling operators.
The regulator took action after discovering marketing campaigns featuring terms like “corona-free gambling” to promote illegal online gaming sites.
After discovering the advertisements, the Gambling Authority threatened to impose penalty payments, after which all ads in question were withdrawn.
TOTO concludes sponsorship agreements with top football league title contender Feyenoord
In anticipation of the opening of the Dutch online betting market, current sports betting monopolist TOTO has concluded a sponsorship deal with Feyenoord Rotterdam, one of the most storied football clubs in the Netherlands.
The sponsorship agreement will run for three years, with an option to extend to five years. While the value of the deal has not been disclosed, TOTO will reportedly become one of Feyenoord’s main sponsors.
At present, TOTO has concluded sponsorship agreements with eight other clubs that are competing in the Netherlands’ top domestic football league: Sparta, Willem II, FC Utrecht, FC Groningen, Heerenveen, ADO Den Haag, FC Twente, and RKC Waalwijk.
