Holland Casino and VAN Kansspelen launch joint PR offensive against continued casino closings
Holland Casino and trade association VAN Kansspelen have joined forces in protesting government plans to keep all Dutch casinos closed until September 1, 2020.
After expressing “deep disappointment” in a joint statement, Holland Casino and VAN Kansspelen subsequently conveyed their common concerns in a “constructive meeting” with Minister for Legal Protection Sander Dekker.
Citing “new circumstances and developments,” which Minister Dekker promised to consider, Holland Casino and VAN Kansspelen argued for an earlier re-opening. Follow-up consultations on this matter will be held in the near future.
Other attempts to speed up the re-opening of Dutch land-based casinos are rather less subtle.
In related news, VAN Kansspelen has recently partnered with employers’ organization ONL voor Ondernemers in order to advance its interests in The Hague.
