Are you an operator looking to apply for a Dutch remote gaming license? Then don’t miss the upcoming

Updated: Feb 4, 2021

The regulated Dutch iGaming market is scheduled to open on 1 January 2021. From 1 July 2020 – just over six months out – the Netherlands Gambling Authority will start processing license applications from interested operators. Now is the time to get ready.

In order to keep interested parties fully informed of what is to come, Gaming in Holland will organize a FREE breakfast briefing on Tuesday, December 17 in Amsterdam.

As an added bonus, the GiH Breakfast Briefing will take place shortly after the General Consultation on gambling policy in the Dutch Lower House on November 27.

KSA chairman to speak at GiH Breakfast Briefing

The following speakers will make an appearance:

  • René Jansen, Chairman of the Netherlands Gambling Authority

  • Francesco Rodano, Chief Policy Officer at Playtech and former Head of Remote Gaming at the Italian gambling regulatory authority

  • Justin Franssen, Managing Partner at Kalff Katz & Franssen

  • Peter-Paul de Goeij, Director of Speel Verantwoord

  • Frits Huffnagel, Chairman of VAN Kansspelen

The discussion will be moderated by Dr. Jörg Hofmann, Senior Partner at Melchers. Dr. Hofmann has been widely recognized by his peers as the foremost German gaming lawyer.

RegTech Workshop

The Breakfast Briefing will be followed by a workshop on technological innovations to facilitate regulatory compliance.

The RegTech workshop will feature sessions on player risk assessment through self-testing – as mandated by the Remote Gaming Act’s secondary legislation – as well as comprehensive and effective ID verification, which will be included in the Netherlands Gambling Authority’s prioritization criteria from January 1 onward.

The entire workshop will last ca. 75 minutes.

When & where

The GiH Breakfast Briefing will take place on December 17 at CIRCL, a new pavilion in Amsterdam's Zuidas district that was constructed by ABN AMRO according to sustainable and circular principles.

CIRCL is only a one-minute walk away from the WTC Zuid train station and easy to reach by public transport.
