Moments ago, the Dutch Senate adopted the Remote Gaming Bill, two and a half years after the bill passed the Lower House.
This means that the Dutch online market is now expected to open in late 2020 or early 2021.
The Senate furthermore adopted motions stating that: 1) operators who in the past deliberately targeted the Dutch market will be subject to a two-year blackout period; 2) that the government should consider bringing back IP and DNS blocking when the enacted bill will be evaluated after three years; and 3) that the government should investigate the desirability of a complete ban on online gambling advertising.
