The first term of the senate debate just concluded.
The second term, during which Minister for Legal Protection Sander Dekker will respond to the questions and objections raised during the first term, will kick off later today at 19:45 CET.
To summarize:
The Remote Gaming Bill appears to be in good shape. VVD, D66 and PVV will (almost) certainly vote for the bill, while PvdA and (to a lesser extent) GroenLinks also expressed support. CDA was critical, but may end up supporting the bill anyway. Support of either PvdA or CDA is sufficient for the bill to pass.
However, the fate of the Casino Reform Bill, which would arrange for the privatization of Holland Casino, hangs by a thread. Opposition is widespread and it is hard to see where a sufficient number of votes may be found.
