On 28 November, Gaming in Holland will organize a Dutch-language afternoon session in Amsterdam, titled: “The Dutch Lottery Landscape after 2018: a Blueprint for Other EU Countries?”
We will be taking an in-depth look at the new market conditions for lottery operators following the recent realization of a more liberalized lottery licensing system. Will the Netherlands be an example to other EU countries?
Program
Starting at 4:15 PM, we will bring you three separate 30-minute discussion sessions on the following topics:
New charity lottery licenses in the NetherlandsManaging directors Peter-Paul de Goeij and Roelant Reizevoort, representing newly-licensed charity lottery operators Lottovate Nederland and Fair Share Nederland respectively, will discuss their plans for the future. When will they launch? How much money do they expect to contribute to good causes? Will there be opportunities in other European countries?
Lotteries and responsible gamingResponsible gaming expert Pieter Remmers, CEO of Assissa, will discuss the impact, as seen from a responsible gaming perspective, of a larger and more diverse lottery market. Will the fact that lotteries are allowed to sell their products online lead to a change in player behavior and to an increased risk of gambling addiction?
A regulatory perspective on the future of the Dutch lottery landscapeFormer Lotto CEO and former board member of European Lotteries (EL) Tjeerd Veenstra and well-known gaming lawyer Justin Franssen of law firm Kalff Katz & Franssen will discuss the future of the Dutch state-owned lottery monopolies. What will the Dutch lottery landscape look like in five years time? How does Mr Veenstra feel about the four policy options that were proposed by the Ministry of Justice and Security? Will the Dutch model inspire reforms in other European countries? This last session will be moderated by leading IT and sourcing lawyer Polo van der Putt.
