The first attempt to form a new government in the Netherlands has failed. VVD, CDA, D66 and GroenLinks could not reach agreement on a number of topics, including immigration. It is not clear which political groups will attempt to form a new government next. Eventually, negotiations between the aforementioned groups could even be restarted if other options fail.
