Join Gaming in Holland and Speel Verantwoord at the GiH Breakfast Briefing

The regulated Dutch iGaming market is scheduled to open on 1 January 2021. From 1 July 2020, the Netherlands Gambling Authority will start processing license applications from interested operators. Now is the time to get ready.

In order to keep interested parties fully informed of what is to come, Gaming in Holland will organize a FREE breakfast briefing on Tuesday, December 17 in Amsterdam.

The GiH Breakfast Briefing will feature the following speakers:

  • Justin Franssen, Managing Partner at Kalff Katz & Franssen
  • Peter-Paul de Goeij, Director of Speel Verantwoord

The GiH Breakfast Briefing is organized in cooperation with Dutch online gambling trade association Speel Verantwoord.

Speel Verantwoord aims for an attractive, safe, and responsible gambling offering in the Netherlands and it represents the interests of its members in ongoing dialogue with the Netherlands Gambling Authority, the Ministry of Justice, MPs, as well as all other relevant stakeholders.

Ahead of the online gambling market opening up, Speel Verantwoord will soon be rebooting and expand its member base with more prospective online gambling operators.


VAN Kansspelen to Hold Annual Product Exhibition

On November 20, VAN Kansspelen, the Dutch trade association which mainly represents land-based arcade hall operators, will organize its annual product exhibition.

Around twenty exhibitors will showcase their latest products and services. Additionally, there will be informative sessions on licensing, privacy, and automation.

  • The Hospitality Summit, which takes place on 4 – 6 February, 2020 in London, is a brand new conference dedicated to hospitality tailored for gaming.
  • GamblingCompliance Global Regulatory Awards 2020, which celebrate excellence in compliance and responsible gambling initiatives, will be awarded on 22 April, 2020 at the De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms in Central London.

Toto Wins Two Golden Effies at Dutch Effies Awards Gala

Nederlandse Loterij’s sports betting brand Toto has won two golden Effies at the Dutch Effie Awards Gala.

Effie Awards are handed out for effectiveness in marketing, spotlighting marketing ideas that work.

The “Koning Toto” campaign contributed to a 53% increase in total revenue. Thanks to 110,000 new players in the 18-34 age category and 40,000 new players in the 35+ age category, Toto’s online revenues doubled, revitalizing a dated brand.

Nederlandse Loterij’s flagship Staatsloterij brand also won a silver Effie Award.

Commenting on the “Koning Toto” campaign in a separate interview in Adformatie, Nederlandse Loterij’s Chief Marketing Officer Arno de Jong said that he has never seen a campaign “that
has brought about such an image shift among all target groups.”
