As expected, the Dutch Lower House yesterday adopted two additional motions on gambling policy. The first motion calls for a ban of role models in gambling advertising who are younger than 25 or who have a significant following among this age group. This motion is also a delayed rebuke against the successful “Koning Toto” advertising campaign featuring rapper Donnie.
The second motion would give organizing sports associations a strengthened right of consultation on which sports events licensed operators are allowed to offer bets on, with the Netherlands Gambling Authority having a final say over which bets would be permitted.
